Play Red is sweet and it's scent is somewhere in between light and heavy making it perfect for wearing all year round. The sweetness is rounded out by gratuitous use of resins and spices above and below Red's rich, red heart of cherry and geranium. Red mandarin helps lend kick to the tart berry tang of cherry, a note rarely used so successfully as the focus of a perfume. Meanwhile pink pepper gives Red a jolt of crispiness in contrast to its sweetness, pushing it deep into unisex territory, while saffron and cinnamon lend a warm, radiant, even sparkling quality to the fragrance. At the very base, myrrh murmurs audibly, its deepness and dirtiness becoming more present as the top notes fade away, and tolu balsam, prominent in Red from first whiff clear through the dry-down, extends its vanillic, resinous paws to embrace the nose as it leans in to smell.
