Tarocco, one of the three main strains of blood orange, is believed to
have been named for the exclamation made by an Italian farmer upon
being shown this new and strange fruit. It's interesting here with
this scent, I can clearly envision a picturesque image of the blood
red of the orange sitting beside a red Bulgarian rose, the two
dominant scents in this delightfully satisfying aroma. It's an
inviting and unimposing image, just like the scent. Grapefruit opens
this fragrance, quickly giving way to a sweeter citrus scent, that of
the sweet Tarocco blood orange. Saffron, ginger, and cinnamon lend
their presence, here quite subtly, joined by a crisp Virginian cedar
that with the spices, especially on the skin, adds a clean edge
without smelling too sharp. Incense and musk make up the foundation,
endowing the fragrance with their lasting power and their warmth.
L'Eau de Tarocco succeeds in finding a balance between citrus and
rose, and we highly recommend this cologne to lovers of either/or.

Made in France
United by a passion for creativity and design, three artisans became friends and partners. They opened a shop at 34 boulevard Saint-Germain to showcase their avant-garde fabric designs and decorative items from their travels. The trio offered colored candles to match their fabrics, adding perfumed wax. Customers fell in love with the inimitable fragrances. Word traveled. Their cachet grew. In 1963, they introduced the first Diptyque scented candle. In 1968, the first line of Diptyque fragrances was launched. Today, the three Parisian artists are world-renowned purveyors of fragrance and scented candles. |
