Ah, Vetyverio. The name alone conjures fantastic images of the king of all roots, an Apothecary favorite, vetiver, and the scent doesn't fail to deliver anything short of fantastic. We use the word fantastic because beyond being a great vetiver scent, it is a bit more fanciful than many of the deep, smokey vetiver fragrances on the market. In fact, we were surprised the first time we smelled Vetyverio, expecting something quite pungent and strong. Instead you are greeted by a complex earthy-citrus blend, headed by a grapefruit and rose, much more well-suited for the summer than originally envisioned. That said, the earthy undertones, the spices and the musk, all factor in to make this scent strikingly unisex, even better suited for him than for her. Following the citrus head of the scent, geranium and ylang ylang join rose in lending their petals to help fortify the floral bouquet that rests near Vetyverio's body. Cedar and carrot seed compliment the vetiver with their distinct woody (and earthy) tones. And in the dry down, much to our satisfaction, the vetiver does begin to shine through a bit more clearly, subtly bringing out it's characteristic smokiness. The result is a relatively easy to access vetiver that will give you the deep rooty scent vetiver-lovers cherish without being overly powerful, well-suited for just about any situation.

United by a passion for creativity and design, three artisans became friends and partners. They opened a shop at 34 boulevard Saint-Germain to showcase their avant-garde fabric designs and decorative items from their travels. The trio offered colored candles to match their fabrics, adding perfumed wax. Customers fell in love with the inimitable fragrances. Word traveled. Their cachet grew. In 1963, they introduced the first Diptyque scented candle. In 1968, the first line of Diptyque fragrances was launched.
