L'Eau du Navigateur has been around since 1979, one of the oldest fragrances in our shop, and we can safely say it's original wonder is still completely intact. Created to evoke sensations of exploring the world on a seafaring vessel, Navigateur succeeds in presenting both the comforting familiarity of the warm ship's cabin and the exotic air of foreign seas. The leather of the sailor's belts, boots, and gloves is soft, sweetened by the precious opoponax and galbanum resins transported for trade on vessels like these in the days of old. Subtle spices, incenses, and woods makeup the background, while today's navigateur's beverage of choice, coffee, mixed with rum, coos the smeller into a warm, dreamy repose. The result is a not-too-smokey, universally accessible fragrance with allusions to marine notes of the calm salty waves crashing outside. Classic then and just as classic now, an alluring night-time fragrance that dances gracefully away from overpowering, L'Eau du Navigateur is a true masterpiece.
