|Anvers, French for Antwerp, is one hell of a fragrance. Completely unlike anything we've got here in our humble Apothecary, or anything that I've smelled anywhere else for that matter. The most consistent adjective I hear used to describe it is syrupy, like maple syrup. Now after hearing that you're going to have to take a step back let it settle, and re-approach the scent as something to wear on your body instead of something to pour on your pancakes. Once you get there, you won't be disappointed. The syrupy complexion comes from violet, jasmine, and geranium leaves sweetened by sesame and honey, and is
accented by a hint of guava. Expertly blended citrus with basil, mint, sage, and precious woods come together to create a classically cologne-y accord that when mixed with the syrupy notes, the strength of the leather, the precision of the moss, and the warm ambers, you've got yourself a truly original yet ultimately timeless scent that reminds you of your grandpa without letting you forget that scents like these didn't exist back when he was a kid; this is the scent of today's man.

Ulrich Lang is a relatively new perfumer with his first scent, Anvers appearing in 2003. Originally located in Germany, Lang felt inclined to transplant to New York where he works currently. Coming from a background in cosmetics, he was well-prepared for work in fragrance when he decided to make the plunge, and his experience shines through the three scents that we carry. Each Ulrich Lang scent is surprisingly unique, versatile, and striking, with special care given to evoke sentiments of a considered, sophisticated future. His team has thus far been completely successful in their endeavor.
